Westerly Library

All That Matters, Wakefield, RI
From the North: Take Route 1 South to Downtown Wakefield Exit. Turn right onto Tower Hill Road. At Route 108 Tower Hill Road becomes Main Street. Continue straight and go through three lights. After Main Street curves left at South County Motors look for Main Street Branch Lumber on the right. All That Matters is about six buildings past the Lumber store.

From the South: Take Route 95 North to Exit 3A (Kingston/Newport) and follow Route 138 into Wakefield. Pass Benny’s and CVS on your right and make a right turn onto Main Street. Continue through two lights and after Main Street curves left at South County Motors look for Main Street Branch Lumber on the right. All That Matters is about six buildings past the Lumber store.

Attleboro High School
Take 95 North to Exit 3 in Massachusetts. Go right off the ramp and get into the left lane immediately. Take the first left at the Shell Station (Lathrop Street). This becomes West Street. Look for the  Good News Bible Chapel on the left. Across the street on the right is a small sign for Attleboro High School. Take the right onto Rome Blvd and go to the end. Take a left at the playing fields onto Rathbun Willard Drive. You will see the school on your right. Park in the first lot, walk in front of the building to the far end and go down the drive to the portico. This is the Principal’s entrance. Go to the office directly across the lobby from the door and they will give you a visitor’s pass. For subsequent visits, someone will tell you alternate places to park and which entrance to use to get to the greenhouse.

Audubon Environmental Education Center
Take Route 195 East to Exit 7 in East Providence. Go South on Route 114, through East Providence, Barrington, and Warren, to the Bristol town line. The address is 1401 Hope Street, entrance is on right, immediately after the Bristol/Warren town line.

Blithewold
From Newport: Take Route 114 North through Middletown and Portsmouth. Cross the Mt. Hope Bridge into Bristol, and bear left at the fork, staying on Route 114 (Ferry Road). Blithewold is a quarter mile on the left.

From Providence (through the East Bay): Take Route 195 to Exit 7, Route 114. Follow Rt. 114 South for approximately 13 ½ miles through Barrington, Warren, and downtown Bristol. Blithewold is located on the right side of Route 114.

From Providence (through Fall River): Take Route 195 East through Fall River, MA, to Exit 8, Route 24 South (Newport). After approximately 7 miles, cross the Sakonnet River Bridge, and then take Rhode Island Exit 2 (Bristol/Mt.Hope Bridge). Go right at the end of the ramp and cross the Mount Hope Bridge. Bear left at the fork to Rt. 114 (Ferry Road). Blithewold is 1/4 mile on the left.

From Boston, MA: Take Route 93 South (Avoid I-95 South to Providence) to Route 24 South. In Fall River, MA, Exit onto 195 West for one exit (approx ¼ mile), then return to Route 24 South, following signs towards Newport, RI. After approximately 7 miles, cross the Sakonnet River Bridge, and then take Rhode Island Exit 2 (Bristol/Mt.Hope Bridge). Go right at the end of the ramp and cross the Mount Hope Bridge. Bear left at the fork to Route 114 (Ferry Road). Blithewold is 1/4 mile on the left.

Bristol RI Veterans Home
From Providence take I-195 East to exit 2 (Route 136 S). Follow Route 136 into Bristol where 136 is also called Metacom Avenue. The Veterans Home is on the left at 480 Metacom Avenue.
From Newport take Route 114 North over the Mount Hope Bridge and then bear right onto Route 136 North, which is again Metacom Avenue. The Veterans Home will be on the right at 480 Metacom Avenue.
There are two cannons in the front and two tall flag poles.

Chase Farm
From Providence, take Route 146 North. Follow for five miles to Route 123. Take a right off the exit onto route 123 and follow it for approximately 0.5 mile. You will pass a farm with a twin silo on the left and then a large stone house (Hearthside). Then you will see a small cream color barn (Blacksmith Shop) – this will be pole # 44-1. You can park behind there. Next door is a large yellow farmhouse with picnic tables on the lawn. This is the farmhouse of Chase Farm. If the gate is open you can drive up near the Butterfly Garden. As you face the yellow farmhouse, the Chase Farm Park and Butterfly Garden is set back on the hill to the right of the farmhouse. You will see the outline of a butterfly in stone on the hill. 
(If you pass the sign for Lincoln Woods you have gone too far.)

Corliss Auditorium, URI Narragansett Bay Campus
From Providence: Take Route 95 South to Exit 9. Stay in left lane off highway onto Route 4 South and continue to the light at the junction of Route 1 and Route 138 West. Take a left at this light (at the tower) onto Bridgetown Road . Follow the road down a hill and then back up a hill to a traffic light (there is a Brooks Pharmacy on the right). Continue across this intersection to South Ferry Road and on past South Ferry Industrial Park on the right and South Ferry Church on the left. The campus entrance is on the right. Follow RIWPS signs to the auditorium.

From the South: Take Route 1 to  the junction of Route 138 West. Take a right onto Bridgetown Road . Follow the road down a hill and then back up a hill to a traffic light (there is a Brooks Pharmacy on the right). Continue across this intersection to South Ferry Road and on past South Ferry Industrial Park on the right and South Ferry Church on the left. The campus entrance is on the right. Follow RIWPS signs to the auditorium.

Cumberland Library

From Providence: Take Route 146 North to Route 295 North to Exit 11 (Route 114, Diamond Hill Road). Turn right onto Diamond Hill Road and drive about one mile south. On your right, you will see a big red and blue sign that reads "The Monastery". This marks the entrance to the Monastery grounds where the library is located. Turn right at Monastery Drive and follow it into the parking lot. The library is set far back from the main road.

From the South: Take Route 95 North to Route 295. Follow same directions as above.

From the North: Take Route 95 South to Route 295 South to Exit 11 (Rte. 114, Diamond Hill Road). Turn left onto Diamond Hill Road and drive about one mile south. Follow same directions as above.

Daggett Farm
Take 95 North to the first Route 1 exit (the one for Home Depot). Bear right off exit, go through several traffic lights (about four or five). Just before the fire station, take left into Slater Park. Bear left at first fork. Daggett Farm and Greenhouse is on your right

East Greenwich High School
From the North: Follow 95 South to Exit 8, Route 2, East Greenwich. Head south on Route 2 for about two miles, to the second traffic light, Middle Road. Turn left onto Middle Road and continue for one mile. Turn right onto Avenger Drive (just after the bridge) and proceed to the school.

From the South: Follow Route 4 to Exit 6, Route 2, East Greenwich. Head north on Route 2 for about two miles to the fourth traffic light, Middle Road. Turn right onto Middle Road and continue for one mile. Turn right onto Avenger Drive (just after the bridge) and proceed to the school.

Foster Fair
From Providence: Take Route 6 east (toward Connecticut) to Route 102 South to Route 94, which will be a gradual turn to the right from Route 102. Travel on Route 94 for a few miles. The Fairgrounds are on the left side of the road.

From the South: Take Route 102 north. In Foster, Route 94 is a sharp left turn. Travel on Route 94 for a few miles. The Fairgrounds are on the left side of the road.

Garden in the Woods
North Framingham, MA
From North, South, East: Take Route 128 to Route 20 West. Drive 8 miles on Route 20 to Raymond Road (2nd left after traffic lights in S. Sudbury). Go 1.3 miles to Hemenway Road and follow the Garden in the Woods signs.

From West: Take Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit 12, Route 9 East. Drive 2.4 miles to Edgell Road Exit. Turn left at the lights at the top of the exit ramp onto Edgell Road (Route 9 overpass). Go 2.1 miles to the traffic lights and take a right onto Water Street and a left onto Hemenway Road and follow the Garden in the Woods signs.

Hattoy’s Nursery & Garden Center
Route I- 95 to Exit 7. Take left if coming from South, right if coming from North.
Go to four-way stop and turn left onto Arnold Road . Drive to stop light at end of road.  Go straight through light onto Sandy Bottom Road .  Go to end and bear right at light (right hand turn lane with stop sign). Go a very short distance to a light at the intersection of Routs 116 ( Knotty Oak Road .)  Turn left onto Route 116.  After approximately 1 – 1.5 miles there is a Cumberland Farms on the left.  Take the very next right onto Gervais Street and follow it to the end. We are located directly across the street at 315 Blackrock Road , Coventry.

The Hunt House Museum
From North or South: Take Route 95 to Providence then take 195 East to Exit 8 onto Warren Avenue (Route 1A and Route 6) north towards Rumford and Pawtucket Avenue. Turn right onto Pawtucket Avenue (Route 1A and Route 114) and go 1.6 mile, past the East Providence High School and Wampanaug Mall at the  intersection with Route 44. Continue on Route 1A and Route 114 and bear right onto Pleasant Street (Route 114A). In 0.2 mile there is a sign for the Hunt House Museum on the right. Turn right onto Hunts Mills Road and follow the long driveway to the Hunt House Museum.

From East Bay or Southeastern Massachusetts: Take Route 195 West to Exit 1 (Rt. 114A) in Seekonk, MA, and bear right onto Route 114A North (pass Showcase Cinema on the right and Newport Creamery on the left). Continue straight on Route 114A and go past the intersection with County Street and then go 1.2 mile, bear left, and continue on Route 114A. The Grist Mill will be on the right. Continue straight on Route 114A, past the intersection with Route 44 (a Lincoln Mercury dealership will be on the right), and then in 0.5 mile there is a ‘Welcome to East Providence’ sign and then a sign for the Hunt House Museum on the left. Turn left onto Hunts Mills Road and follow the long driveway to the  Hunt House Museum.


Jamestown Library
From South or North: Take 138 East over the Jamestown Bridge. Take the first exit, Helm Street. Do not turn onto Helm. Proceed through the stop sign. At the next stop sign, turn right onto North Road. Take North Road until you see a Cumberland Farms store on the right and a playground on the left. The library is the brick building on the left. Take a left just after the library onto Swinburne St. The library driveway and parking are on your left.

Norman Bird Sanctuary
From the North: Take Route 128S/93S to Route 24 South, Exit 1 (Newport Beaches). Bear right off the exit and follow Route 138 South through Portsmouth for approximately 7 miles. After passing the R.I. Nurseries on the right, take a left onto Route 138A at the second set of traffic lights. Follow Route 138A to the first intersection (7-/eleven & Sandy's Liquors). Take a left onto Green End Avenue and continue for about 1 ½ miles to a four-way stop. Take a right onto Third Beach Road. Norman Bird Sanctuary is ¾ mile on the right. The offices are in the barn next to the parking lot.

From Newport Bridge (Route 138 East): Once over the bridge, follow signs to Fall River/Cape Cod. Take a left at the end of the exit ramp that faces the Casino. Proceed east for 1.6 miles through four stop lights, passing Sandy's Liquor Store on the right. As the four-way stop sign, take a right onto Third Beach Road. . Norman Bird Sanctuary is ¾ mile on the right. The offices are in the barn next to the parking lot.

Prescott Farm
From the North: Take Route 44 East to Route 195 East/Route 6 East. Continue for about 17 miles to Exit 8A (towards Newport/Tiverton) onto Route 24 South. Get onto Route 114 South and the Farm is about four miles on the left.

From the South: Take Route 138 East and continue over the Newport Bridge. Turn left on Girard Avenue, turn right onto Maple Avenue, and turn Left onto Route 114 North and the Farm is about 2.5 miles on the right.

Quonset Officers Club
From the North: Take Route 95 South to Exit 9 on the left toward Newport/South County. Merge onto RI-4 South to RI-403/Exit 7 toward N. Kingstown/Quonset Point. Turn left onto RI-403 South/Davisville Road. Continue to follow RI-403 South which becomes Davisville Road. Turn right onto Roger Williams Way. Follow directions below for “ALL.”

From the East: Take the Route 138 West ramp toward Jamestown/New York. Merge onto Route 138 East and then merge onto Route 1 North toward Providence. Turn right onto Roger Williams Way. Follow directions below for “ALL.”

From the South: Take Route 1 North. Turn right onto Roger Williams Way. Follow directions below for “ALL.”

ALL: Look on the right side of the road for Quonset O'Club or Quonset Officers Club directions. There are very good signs at each of the intersections. Turn left at the light – Kosher Road then take the first right onto Callahan Road. Callahan Road becomes Lt. James Brown Road. Pass Pelly's 19th Hole Club, keep going straight, and stop at the stop sign. The road goes a little to the left. Keep going. It looks like you're driving onto the golf course, You'll see signs to watch for carts! The Officer's club is on the right at the end of the road.

Roger Williams Park Botanical Center Conservatory
From the North: Take Route 95 South to Exit 17 (Elmwood Avenue). Make a left at the light, the Park Entrance is one half block on the left. (*) Go into the Park and around the circle than bear to the right. Go down the hill, bear right again, and cross the bridges. Continue past the Boathouse towards the stables. The Conservatory is on the right.

From the South: Take route 95 North to Exit 16 (Elmwood Avenue). Bear right and go left at the light. The Park entrance is one half block on the right. Follow directions above from (*).

Smith-Appleby House
From the North or the South: Take Route 295 to Exit 8B ( Route 7 North, Douglas Pike). Go left at the first light (Thurber Boulevard) and then make a left onto Stillwater Road.

South Kingstown Center
From the North: Take Route 1 South to Route 138 West. Go right onto Route 138 and travel 1.2 miles to Broad Rock Road. Take a left and go 0.8 mile then take a left at the St. Dominic Savio and The Center signs. Take t he next right into the Senior Center parking lot.

From the South: Follow Route 1 North to the Wakefield exit. Take a left at the end of the exit ramp, go over Route 1 Bridge, and, following Wakefield signs, take a left. Travel 1/2 mile and take a right at Dale Carlia Shopping Center on Kingstown Road (Route 108). Go 1/2 mile, past Old Mountain Field, and then take a right at the traffic light onto Broad Rock Road. In 0.4 mile, bear left past the YMCA entrance then take a right at St. Dominic Savio Retreat and The Center signs. Take the next right into the Senior Center parking lot.

South Shore Natural Science Center
From Route 3, take exit 13 (Hanover Mall/Norwell). At end of exit ramp, turn north onto Route 53. At first traffic light, turn right on Route 123 ( Main Street ). Take first left onto Jacobs Lane (just past the pond). The Science Center is about 1/4 mile on your right.

URI Agronomy Building

Take Route 138 to Route 110 (Ministerial Road on the south and Plains Road on the north). Turn onto Plains Road. When you come to the sharp right turn toward the campus, take a left and then an immediate right. Agronomy is the large building that looks like a garage.

Take Route 138 to Route 108. East farm is about one mile south of the intersection, on the left.

Westerly Library
From Providence: Take Route 95 South to Exit 1 (Westerly). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Route 3 South and travel 6 miles into Westerly. You will cross a railroad bridge where there is a traffic light (Oak Street, Route 91). Proceed straight ahead about one half mile to a second traffic light. At second light, turn right around Wilcox Park. The Library is at the edge of the park on the right – this is Broad Street. The Library is a large, yellow brick building with a red tile roof.

From Connecticut: Take Route 95 North to Exit 91 (Stonington). At the end of the exit ramp, go straight through the traffic light onto Route 234 (Pequot Trail) and continue for approximately 5 miles. At the traffic light, bear left onto Route 1 North. You will go under a railroad overpass and over the Pawcatuck River Bridge. Bear right, get into the left lane, bear left and bear left again. Go past the police station and the fire house and the Library – a yellow brick building with a red tile roof – will be directly across from you as you return to Route 1.

Alternate Route from Norwich, CT: Go south on Route 2 past the Foxwoods Casino to the end, which is at Route 1.  Turn left under the railroad overpass and follow the directions above around the block to the Library.
