The URI Master Gardeners are dedicated to protecting Rhode Island's landscapes through education and outreach about sustainable gardening practices.

More than 12,000 precious acres of land are being farmed and landscaped by Rhode Island's homeowners. To provide residents with best practices training and landscaping, certified Master Gardeners volunteer their expertise, which includes information garnered from University of Rhode Island research studies. With the knowledge imparted by Master Gardeners, Rhode Islanders can sustain the beauty, value, and productivity of our lands and water resources.

Master Gardeners share the desire to preserve the beauty of Rhode Island's urban, suburban, rural, and coastal environments. Through an outreach program of the University of Rhode Island, Master Gardeners volunteer to educate the state's thousands of residents who make gardening the most popular hobby in New England. Master Gardeners also provide valuable advice on plants and ecology for home and professional landscapers.

You will find Master Gardeners:
